The Sanitation Lead reports to the FSQA Manager and oversees 5-6 junior team members in performing sanitation tasks across our food production facility. Responsibilities include cleaning floors and surfaces, managing trash and recycling (including breaking down boxes), and washing commercial dishes and cooking implements. These duties are performed in various areas such as the dish pit, kitchen, production environment, receiving, shipping, break room, bathrooms, and offices. The Sanitation Lead will not directly manage team members, but will serve as first point of contact for questions and issues from the team. Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
This position requires a consistent schedule that includes weekends and some holidays, typically five days a week between 6:00 am and 2:30-4:30 pm, with either Saturday or Sunday included.
Essential Functions
- Clean and sanitize production equipment, floors, walls, and other surfaces using wet cleaning methods and pre-mixed chemical agents.
- Ensure compliance with cleaning and sanitation performance standards.
- Lead and assist in disinfecting all surfaces in food production areas.
- Participate in pre-operation inspections of cleaned equipment.
- Support a food-safe environment through teamwork and proper sanitation training.
- Oversee the cleaning of bathrooms, break rooms, and cafeterias.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain clean, high-quality production surfaces.
- Follow GMP protocols and use PPE as required.
- Manage and organize cleaning supply inventory.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervision.

Education, Experience, Licenses, and/or Certifications Required
- 2+ years of experience in sanitation
- 1+ year of leadership experience
- Basic computer skills
- Basic skills with cleaning solutions, including preparation and dilution of chemicals
- Possess or willing to obtain a Food Handlers Permit
Physical Demands
- Comfortable working in hot and cold temperature environments (-10F to 90F)
- Sitting Standing and/or walking
- Lifting up to 50lbs
- Vision for machine or computer operations
