We're looking for an experienced Senior Marketing Manager. In this role, you will own retention and CRM marketing, spanning email, push notifications, and SMS. Using customer insights, data, and cross-functional relationships, you will set priorities, create strategic roadmaps that drive customer engagement and retention, and ladder up to company-wide KPIs. We will look to you to bring in new thinking and add additional levers to the marketing toolkit. Marketing experience at a growth-stage company is preferred. Passion for food is a must.

How you'll spend your time at Tovala

  • Set and drive CRM strategy and roadmap.
  • Work with the product and data teams to understand our customer journey and retention model.
  • Identify insights that lead to opportunities to better communicate with our customers.
  • Establish customer and business baselines, and set targets for communications.
  • Plan, execute, and measure communication tests.
  • Identify target audiences based on customer cohorts.
  • Identify how we communicate with target audiences.
  • Develop offers to improve our retention.
  • Strong technical understanding of marketing automation tools (our ESP is Iterable), with the ability to make informed decisions on tooling and configuration.
  • Develop creative briefs to articulate communication imagery, copy, and tone.
  • Review and provide feedback on CRM creative.
  • Measure and report on the impact of current communications and recommend improvement opportunities
  • Direct the work of the team executing campaigns, and manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
  • Develop strong cross-functional relationships with product, data, software, and growth teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 - 7 years of marketing experience.
  • Advanced skills in Excel (pivot tables and formulas)
  • Confident in creating and delivering presentations.
  • Experience creating, managing, and scaling marketing campaigns and activations.
  • Preferred: MBA and/or marketing experience at a growth-stage company.

  • You’re a self-starter. You take the initiative to groom customer data and insights and identify opportunities to deploy projects to improve company-wide objectives.
  • You are customer-obsessed. You talk to customers frequently and partner with teams across the organization to help inform project prioritization.
  • You’re a great communicator. You write well, speak well, and can evangelize the CRM roadmap.
  • You can balance strategic priority-setting with campaign-level execution and testing.
  • You're a great collaborator who can work with diverse people (designers, comms strategists, product managers, customer support agents, etc.).
