Position Summary
We are seeking a Summer Engineering Intern to join our team and assist with updating our library of current CAD models. In this role, you will collaborate with our Mechanical Engineering lead to update and maintain existing CAD models of parts and assemblies. You will create new CAD models as needed and be the owner of a new master assembly of our oven products. You will build a library of engineering drawings that represent all of the current oven components. You will also have the opportunity to work on new mechanical designs as the opportunities arise. This internship is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in gaining hands-on mechanical engineering experience in a fast-paced start-up environment.
Location: Chicago (HQ) or Urbana, IL
How you'll spend your time at Tovala
- Collaborate with the engineering team to update existing CAD models of parts and assemblies
- Build new master assemblies of Tovala oven products
- Create a library of drawings that are in accordance with current engineering drawing standards
- Assist with new mechanical designs and prototyping
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on design improvements
- Provide thorough documentation of work completed
About you
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- High level of proficiency in CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
- Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
