We're looking for a QA Engineer to join the Somewear team! Working out of our San Francisco or Chicago offices, you will help test and develop a platform that saves lives and ensure our quality meets the needs of our customers.

The consistent communications and situational awareness across rescue personnel, medical personnel, aircrafts, and the operations center led to an efficient rescue mission that took half of the expected time to complete."

What you'll do

• Become an expert on Somewear products - including all app platforms and our hardware
• Develop and maintain awareness of expected variations including software versions, hardware versions, feature flagging etc
• Write test cases and testing plans for existing and new functionality
• Leverage built-in and third-party tooling to identify and troubleshoot issues
• Relentlessly pursue the root-cause of issues by collecting and documenting all relevant data
• Perform testing and generate highly detailed reports with screenshots, reproduction steps, expected outcome vs actual etc.
• Generate high level reports on health of each platform, including functional issues, performance and general usability
• Track the health and stability of the Somewear system, including issues affecting multiple platforms
• Partner with Customer Success to reproduce and triage issues reported by users
• Work alongside Product team to prioritize and categorize quality issues based on customer impact, frequency of occurrence, etc
• Advocate for the customer in discussions with development and product teams

We’re looking for someone that has

• Worked in QA for 3+ years
• Experience in manual testing across software and hardware
• Led test strategy, test plans and execution previously
• Proficiency in a scripting language (e.g. Javascript, Python)
• A desire to understand users and build life saving features
• A desire to solve tough technical challenges
• Excellent written, spoken, and listening communication skills
• Knowledge of industry standard or test automation tools and experience developing product test harnesses
• Experience reading log files and experience in log collection methods
